Ovarian cancer is a type of cancer that begins in the ovaries, which are the female reproductive organs that produce eggs. It’s often diagnosed at an advanced stage due to subtle early symptoms, making it one of the more challenging cancers to detect and treat early.

Symptoms

Early-stage ovarian cancer rarely causes noticeable symptoms. As the cancer progresses, symptoms may include:

Abdominal Bloating or Swelling.

Quickly Feeling Full.

Weight Loss.

Pelvic Discomfort.

Changes in Bowel Habits: Such as constipation.

Frequent Need to Urinate.

Treatment

Surgery

Debulking Surgery: Removing as much of the tumor as possible

Oophorectomy: Removal of one or both ovaries.

Hysterectomy: Removal of the uterus.

Chemotherapy:

Drugs like bevacizumab (Avastin) and PARP inhibitors that target specific aspects of cancer cells.

Targeted Therapy:

Radiation Therapy:
